Robert Vennell is an ecologist and New Zealand natural history author. His first book The Meaning of Trees explores the history of New Zealand’s plants and people and was nominated for an Ockham New Zealand Book Award.

He is a research associate of Tāmaki Paenga Hira | Auckland Museum and is currently working in the predator free team at Northland Regional Council, helping to make Whangārei Heads pest free.
